Interesting Opportunities

Hey Guys,

I would like to take a moment of your time to offer you all a very interesting opportunity. As you may or may-not know, I run my own game called Janus Outpost she is also a member of TF92. Janus Outpost is not like most simms out there, we are a specialist game where the characters and their development drive the story and not the flash and bang of so many other games (the Normandie excluded from those games of flash bang of course ).

I am giving every member of Normandie an open invitation to join Janus Outpost, as Sean will tell you this is not something I do often, I am quite snob when it comes to who I will allow on my games and usually I must know that person inside out and have written with them for many years before I will consider offering them a place on my game.

With that said, I have come to respect you all as writers and players and would love for any of you to join me and my colleagues on Janus Outpost, I will be honest with you and let you know that for the past few months I have dropped the ball when it comes to Janus Outpost, I haven't given her the dedication she deserves as my game, and from now on that is changing. I have made us a new forum and am in the process of sorting everything out, some of my more established players may not be coming over as their RL commitments have increased dramatically, but I don't foresee many of them leaving. New players are what we need to give her a shot of adrenaline and get things moving again.

With that said, things are somewhat different on Janus Outpost than they are on other games, I think it best to give you a quick run down of her history.

Previously - The USS Hood was on her shake-down cruise when she was stopped and FLt Captain Talem (those of you from the Wanderer will recognize this egotistical and secret alcoholic) was ordered to take command for a classified mission to the Delta Quadrant. Their mission was locate a missing ship and rescue a very special cargo. During the first week the CSTO committed suicide after recognizing Talem as the officer who removed her from Special Forces Training for emotional instability. This was a sign of things to come...

As they attempted to access a slip-route port to the DQ the Hood was engulfed by an unknown field of energy (something kinda like the Caretaker wave in VOY), and the crew found themselves and their almost destroyed ship in the middle of an unknown nebula (Okay I've only just realised how much like VOY this is, but honestly it is nothing like VOY...actually there is a tiny bit more like VOY, but then it ends I promise;)). The crew were isolated from one another and Cadet Nicely piloted a shuttle to explore the damage done to the Hood, when the warp core was ejected from the Hood to avoid total destruction. In the resulting energy wave the Hood and shuttle were pushed further into the Nebula where they found an area of clear space...with an ancient alien station there. With no other options open and almost all her senior staff and experienced Officers and NCO's dead, Talem gave the order to evacuate the Hood, and to make this new station home.

The current mission is set 23 days after the wave hit the Hood, and the survivors are trying to make a home for themselves on the station they have dubbed Janus Outpost, supplies are limited (there we; go the last VOY similarity honestly:P). Inexperienced NCO's and junior officers (and some Cadets) have been forced to take on positions and duties usually held by experienced and seasoned officers, they must work past their fears and own shortcomings to ensure they survive at all costs.

The current mission revolves around the discovery of an AI/Avatar of Janus Outpost being located, but the crew being locked out of it, and an unknown intruder has been spotted on the station, the hunt for this being begins to take a nasty turn when several crew members turn up worse than dead.

All new characters to Janus Outpost will IC have been with the crew since before Talem took command, and will either be a junior NCO (the majority of players will be this level) forced to take an officers posts, or Cadets or very junior officers.
