Mission 1.01 - Rattling the Scabbard

Greetings boys and girls!

Mission 1.01 - Rattling the Scabbard will be active on September 1st, 2010. At that time, the current mission topic will be locked for further posting, and we will progress the story.

Mission 1.01 is the Shakedown Cruise, which means lots of getting chummy with each other, and putting the Wanderer through her courses. This mission is going to be very much a "meeting of the minds. I'll have specific things I'm looking for out of each department, and each player. Don't worry, nothing too heinous on the Shakedown.

If you'd like to know what it is your character should be looking for/doing on this mission, send me an email or a PM here on the site, and I'll help guide you in the right direction.

In the meantime, feel free to continue posting introductory posts in Mission 0.

Hey there folks, I've just deleted that last post made by Robert. We agreed to remove it as it was at complete odds with the next post I was working on which is the next phase of the plot of the mission.

A few things I'd like to bring up. I appreciate, admire, and encourage pro-activity in my players. But I'd ask that if you're going to do something that is plot changing, to please run it by me first so I can work with you on how to incorporate it into our current mission plot. I'm all for switching things up and being flexible, but a little advance warning so that I can work on how to merge the ideas is also good.

I'd also like to encourage you that if you feel you only have a few sentences worth of material to post, to do a little more thinking into it. What is your character feeling? What's going through their mind as they're going about their duties? There are times, when a post like "Jules ran quickly to the bridge and activated the routine that would begin the attack pattern" is appropriate. However, those times are relatively rare.

We have a rare opportunity to be something truly unique within the fleet, and I'd like to see us step up to the plate and show the fleet that the smallest of her ships is the best.
